What Are We Talking About - Practice?
I will never forget the first time I watched Allen Iverson's infamous "practice" press conference. I was just about to graduate from college, and I was living in Providence, Rhode Island. The Celtics had just bounced the Sixers from the playoffs. My dear friend (then boyfriend) Brendan and I sat down on his couch, thinking we'd just catch a little SportsCenter, and we ended up staring at the TV in wonderment. It was HIGH-larious. Now, seven years later, that press conference has hit a whooooole other level of entertainment:

Goonies Sequel Talk - Again
You know, if there's going to be a Goonies sequel, I'm going to be upset. That movie was such an important part of my childhood. It changed the way I thought about pirates, wishing wells and Baby Ruth candy bars. I firmly believe that there is no way a sequel could capture the magic - or the 80's fashion - of the original film. But you know why I'm ALREADY upset? The fact that NO ONE CAN SEEM TO DECIDE IF IT'S HAPPENING OR NOT. Make up your minds, people. I need to know where to direct my anger.

I'm Back, and I've Brought Robots and Bears
Hello, dear blog-reading friends. The last month of my life has been quite the whirlwind, both physically and emotionally. If you did not know: I was sick for a while and off the air for three weeks. Nothing life-threatening, so there's no need to worry. I had such a hard time being off the air, so I'm glad to be back and recovering.
I have been thinking about how to get back into the swing of blogging. For some reason, the first entry after a month away seemed like a huge hurdle. I'm weird like that. After much thought about sharing heartfelt and poetic musings or scathing, sarcastic comedy, I figured I'd just go ahead and post this video:
...and now the hurdle has been jumped. It's good to be back.

Six Sleep Strategies
All too often, a good night's sleep eludes me. I lie awake thinking before finally drifting off. My furry little monsters wake me up at dawn, meowing and purring. Whatever the reason, I know I'm not alone: about 20% of us sleep less than six hours of sleep a night. So when I found this collection of "snooze strategies," I figured it would be worthwhile to pass it along. The article dissects some common sleep myths - like alcohol being a good sleep aid - and suggests ways to get better rest, like adjusting your eating schedule or changing the position of your pillow. Useful stuff, although I don't think the cats are going to give a hoot about my pillow placement. At least they're cute when THEY sleep:
